Daily Whodunit

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 October 2026. This policy explains what information dailywhodunit.com (“Daily Whodunit”, “we”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • You do not need an account to play, and we do not ask for your name.
  • Your puzzle progress, times and streaks are saved in your own browser, not on our servers.
  • We use advertising (Google AdSense) and may use analytics. These services use cookies.
  • If you email us, we use your address only to reply.

Information stored in your browser

To remember your progress on each case (the numbers you entered, your notes, your time and your accusations), the site uses your browser’s local storage. This information stays on your device. We cannot see it, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. This is used to keep the site secure and working, and these logs are kept for a limited time.

We may use an analytics service, such as Google Analytics or a similar tool, to understand how many people visit and which pages they use. Analytics information is aggregated and we do not use it to identify you.

Advertising and cookies

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we will ask for your consent before personalised ads or non-essential cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time.

Email

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and keep it only as long as needed. We never sell it or add you to a mailing list without asking.

Children

Daily Whodunit is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR in Europe and the CCPA in California, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, or to object to how it is used. To make a request, email contact@dailywhodunit.com. We do not sell personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site grows, for example when we add new features or services. The date at the top shows the latest version.
